Rare Goan Recipes Revived at Peep Kitchen

Goan fish thali

Tasty fresh masalas and local ingredients are masterfully blended together to create Teesryo Pulao, Batata Kappa and of course their special Hooman, which are just some of the tasty dishes that keep the locals and tourists flocking to Peep Kitchen. Their Goan fish thali is known all over Goa and beyond. Seafood cuisine such as Chonak Butter Garlic, Dry Prawn Kismoor and Squid Masala Fry are also highly sought after, due their scrumptious taste.

A mixologist is always at hand to serve up bartender cocktail specials, such as the Tamarind Basil Margarita and feni cocktails, including Patrao’s Choice. A meal at the family-styled casual dining restaurant is considered nothing less than comfort food and come lunchtime, there is always a queue outside as guests are seeking more than a peep of what’s on offer in the kitchen. This has certainly been the case since they moved from the original location in Caranzalem to a more spacious new restaurant in 2018.

Peep Kitchen

This current dine-in restaurant is situated in the residential part of Goa’s capital, near the luxury beach-facing penthouses and copious green paddy fields of Taleigao. The beautifully designed contemporary setting can’t be missed as you come across large letters spelling ‘Peep’ outside, which leads to eye-catching environmental graphics inside. The interiors are air conditioned with good lighting, a dedicated bar area, swanky seating to accommodate more guests and ample parking. There is also a branch for takeaway and home delivery in Porvorim called Peep2Go.

The restaurant brand is now over a decade old and is run by the brother duo Amey and Gaurish Naik who ensure everything runs smoothly, from welcoming each and every guest to making sure the home recipes handed down from previous generations are maintained in the kitchen. It is these culinary traditions that have earned the family a reputation for serving tasty wholesome meals that are made with fresh local ingredients and prepared the original way.

This neighbourhood bistro also serves up North Indian, Chinese and Goan seafood. Some of the popular dishes include Dragon Chicken, Chicken Cafreal, Tandoori Chicken and a tasty Chinese Style Lamb. Delicious desserts such as Serradura, Blueberry Panna Cotta, Caramel and Chocolate Mousse, besides a range of Haagen Dazs premium ice cream is available.

The management has invested a lot of time in training their staff to make the guests feel welcome and inculcate in them a desire to serve amazing food. Strong values such as politeness, friendliness, youthfulness in spirit, approachability and honesty are instilled from day one. At Peep Kitchen, seeing happiness on the customer’s faces is their humble endeavour. Their motto is to put their heart, mind and soul into the food and service to win every customer over. This feel good approach and quality service has won them reward and recognition from Trip Advisor, Zomato and the Times Food Awards.
