One of the most tempting things about visiting Goa for beef lovers is the variety of places serving mouth watering steaks, especially considering the ongoing ban in neighbouring Maharashtra. However, in Goa, beef is sacred in a different way, if you know what we mean. Here are some of our top choices of savoury beef delicacies in south and north Goa.
Located just outside the Taj, Cavatina dishes out some of the best contemporary cuisine around and being one of the most stylish restaurants of South Goa, one should not miss their signature succulent steak on stone and the beef wrapped in bacon. Chef Avinash, ofGoan origin and global talent has a very unique style, which is very evident in his food, plating and ambience.

This all-American diner style restaurant is located in the Fontainhas area of the capital of Goa. Their steak is surely the highlight of Panjim and a favorite among meat lovers. Chef Xavs Norr serves his steaks and numerous beef burgers on wooden boards with tasty side dishes and salads.
Karlton’s Horizon Grill,Candolim:
It’s located close to CandolimBeach, with an ambience designed to help unwind and relax.This place is the creation of chef Karlton, a veteran pit master of Goan origin. He displays his culinary experience with his juicy BBQ and steak dishes. It is worth mentioning that they have the most perfect medium rare steaks in town.
If you’re craving some good meat, then you’re in for a treat. This casual dining restaurant is famous for its Portuguese Goan Steak, stuffed generously with the Goanchoriz. If that doesn’t get you drooling, they have an extensive menu with a lot of meat options to fit your cravings.

Dandey’s Grill House,Sangolda
This garden restaurant in Hotel Picnic Plaza, in the quiet village of Sangolda, remains shrouded in greenery, so one can zip past without even noticing it.Chef Deepak serves the best beef dishes with sauces that are prepared with an innovative twist. We highly recommend the Beef Cordon Bleu.
With a very vibrant and warm Mexican hacienda ambience, this place specializes in Tex Mex cuisine. Their wide selection of beef dishes will spoil you for choice, but the Tampiquena Beef Steak tops the list. We recommend you drop by on a Friday or Saturday evening to enjoy some live music while you savour the beef
This very classy and chic restaurant specializes in authentic French and Bengali cuisines. The French menu is designed by Chef Gregory Bazire, well known in Goa for his famous restaurant Poisson Rouge, which was in Baga for many years. Treat the beef lover in you to the Beef Bourguignon, it is slow cooked beef that is marinated over night in red wine and served as a rich and flavorful stew. It is definitely worth a try.
Barrels and Bones, Panjim
The best steakhouse in town, Barrels & Bones, is in the Mala area of Panjim, under a temple of the same name. They take pride in serving you the best quality, prime meats in a classic, rustic setting. Leda Lounge and Cafe, Colva
Leda is a casual restaurant in Colva that is not only known for their steaks but also some really good beef stew accompanied by appams. Their steak eating contests are an added attraction here.
