How We Started Our Social Media Marketing Agency for Small Businesses
Blurb was born in 2014 out of one simple idea: the incredible stories of Goa’s hospitality
and lifestyle brands deserved to be told.
Coming from the Bay Area and Bombay, social media marketing felt like second nature to founder Sapna Shahani. With a background in TV production in the U.S. and entrepreneurship training at the Indian School of Business, she realised she could apply her knowledge of storytelling to marketing strategy. And just like that, Goa’s first social media marketing agency was born.
Growing up between Bombay and Goa, tourism, food, and culture were always part of her life. So when she founded Blurb, it was also a way to give back to the community she adopted as home.
Today, our work often travels beyond Goa — helping hospitality, wellness, real estate, and lifestyle brands find their voice, grow their audience, and create impact through digital storytelling.

Sapna Shahani
Chief Cheerleader
Sapna has consulted over 200 businesses towards becoming brands that lead. Her earlier avatar was a TV producer working with leading channels and production houses.
She is the recipient of a 2009 award of $100,000 in the MacArthur Foundation’s Digital Media and Learning competition that enabled her to train a pan-Indian network of young women to produce online videos about social issues. Sapna has studied at the Indian School of Business, San Francisco State University, Bay Area Video Coalition and Gustavus Adolphus College.
Rebecca Pereira
Communications Catalyst
This Mumbaikar but Goenkar at heart recently moved from the city life to the susegad life at Goa. With over 3 years of experience in various industries in advertising, Rebecca is all set to explore the Hospitality sector here. Her understanding and polite nature make her coordination with clients a piece of cake. On the personal front, she’s a hardcore dog lover and loves traveling.

Creative Storyteller
Annie plans and writes content, and then reads it out loud to check it doesn’t sound like a robot. She likes small details, good menus, and captions that make someone smile before they scroll.

She enjoys sketching and painting, and has moved from Ratnagiri to Goa. Neha won over more experienced designers in our hiring process because of her creativity and enthusiasm.
